1991 Toyota Previa DX - Engine will rev up to 2300 RPM than cut out until 1400 RPM, by Matt A. at 10 Mile Telegraph BP Amoco
Took about 3 days to figure this out. Engine ran fine otherwise, no check engine light or anything. Found out that the wire for the idle switch (blue/yellow wire off of TPS) will rub and short to ground - that’s when the computer thinks you are coasting with the foot off the gas so it cuts fuel (Spark will be there all the time) until it is able to get back down to 1400 rpm. Just run another wire to the computer and all will be well agian!
